Kagara abduction: Parents commend Govt for victims release

Parents of the abducted students of Government Science College, Kagara, in Niger state, have commended the State Government for securing the release of the students and other victims.

One of the parent, a farmer from Munya local government area,  Mr John paiko told Voice of Nigeria that he was called in the early hours of Saturday that his son Emmanuel, a JSS2 Student of the school and other kidnapped victims were released.

He however said they were not allowed to see the children.

Another parent,  Aliyu Isah, said his wife and five of his children were among the victims who regained freedom.

“I  want to thank God for the safe return of my wife and children, I went through sleepless nights because i didn’t know the condition they were in,” Isah said.

He commended  the effort of the state government for the commitment demonstrated in rescuing the children

” I am very happy and pray such thing never occurred again in our state,” he added.  .

Abubakar Musa, Who also said Six of his children were  among the victims, expressed his happiness on the released of the Children.

“Masha Allah for the safe return of the children, i am happy and glad that they have been released,” he said.

Report says a team of medical personnel was deployed to the facility where the victims were being kept for profiling and medical attention.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger state, Mrs Mary Noel Berje,said that the Government will officially address the media later in the day.

It would be recalled that 27 students , three staff and 12 family members of the Government Science College, Kankara in Niger State were released by their captors in the early hours of Saturday.

The victims were abducted by bandits, dressed in military uniforms on February 17, 2021.
