CAF cancels 2021 U17 AFCON
The African Football Confederation, CAF has announced the cancellation of the 2021 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Emergency Commission of the CAF met on Monday in Rabat to study the different scenarios that could be proposed within the framework of the U17 African Nations Cup, which Morocco was to organise from 13th to 30th March.
The governing body of African Football decided to cancel the competition due to the pandemic situation in several African countries.
CAF also took into consideration the closing of the borders between Morocco and countries in the region, as well as the refusal of several European clubs to release their players to participate in this competition.
