Lagos Women Journalists decorate Speaker as Grand Patron

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State has decorated the Speaker of the state House of Assembly Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa as their Grand Patron.

The event took place when the Executive members paid him a courtesy call as part of activities to celebrate the International Women’s Day.

The members briefed the Speaker on NAWOJ activities and sought for support for the association’s events and projects while fostering a working relationship with his honourable office.

The Chairperson, Adeola Ekine appreciated the Speaker for his good works especially towards women and children.

Obasa appreciated the NAWOJ Executive for coming to the House of Assembly and commended the Chairperson for sighting all the good works being done by the House.

He advised the association to look inward and fish out fake Journalists.    “It is important as a body to look inward and put a system in place to shed the bad eggs mostly fake ones parading themselves as Journalists”, he said.

The Speaker promised to look into all the request and demands made by the women body.

 

Other honourable members present at the courtesy visit are: the member representing Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 1, Mojisola Kehinde Alli-Macaulay, Ojo Constituency 1 representative, Hon. Olusegun Victor Akande and the Ikeja Constituency 2 counterpart, Hon. Olusegun Victor Akande.
