Former Sokoto APC Gubernatorial Candidate Decamps to PDP

A former Sokoto State All Progressive Congress, APC Governorship Candidate, Faruk Malami Yabo, has officially joined the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Yabo, an immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Jordan and Iran and who was the Sokoto APC Governorship candidate in the 2019 election made the declaration at the campaign rally of the PDP in Yabo local government area.

Yabo expressed satisfaction with the level of support the party is receiving across Sokoto state.

I return to the PDP, the party of integrity, and trust,” Yabo said.

He urged all his supporters to join the success train and use their voters cards to elect PDP candidates at all levels.

Party mandate

Addressing the campaign gathering, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, said they were in Yabo for a thank you visit. He said “Today remains a historic and the most successful day of democracy in Sokoto State.

“The formal declaration and return of my brother to PDP was long awaited and is a great development that signifies more success is under way” said Tambuwal “this also shows more acceptance of the party and that it will emerge victorious in the state and Nigeria,“.

Tambuwal commended Yabo local government people for their sustained support to the party.

Governor Tambuwal also urged the party supporters to give Malam Ubandoma and Atiku Abubakar the mandate to change the fortune of democracy.

Supporting the party

Also in his remarks, the PDP Chairman in the state, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, thanked the crowd in Yabo for their well deserved support to the party.

He urged the party supporters to collect their Permanent voters card to elect Malam Sa’idu Ubandoma as governor of the state.

If Ubandoma is given the mandate in the forthcoming election he would continue to consolidate on Tambuwal’s achievement,” Goronyo said.

The PDP Governatorial Candidate, Malam Sai’du Umar said Governor Tambuwal has executed developmental projects that had direct impacts on the people.

He pledged that if elected he would maintain the legacies of Tambuwal and his dynamic leadership in the state.

Umar thanked the people of Yabo local government and assured that he would run a people oriented administration for the overall progress in the state.
