Nigeria’s anti-graft agency has confirmed its awareness of the arrest of a Labour Party Chieftain, Mr. Doyin Okupe by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday morning at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.
In a press statement, the EFCC’S spokesperson Mr. Wilson Uwujaren said, “the secret Police acted on a Watch-list request issued on July 18, 2016, over six years before his recent conviction on money laundering charges by the Federal High Court, Abuja.”
Uwujaren noted that, the Commission was in the process of formally lifting the watch-list before his interception and would expedite action on the matter.
