A strike of Niger Tornadoes’ Football Club, David Okoromi, says he is confident that the Ikon Allah Boys will spring surprises this season.

Okoromi, a former player with ABS Ilorin, Kwara State, who joined Niger Tornadoes for this season’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), said his teammates are “fully ready to kick spectacularly start this season.”

“The team struggled in the area of goal scoring last season until the likes of Jonas Emmanuel came in and improved the scoring ratio. I’m ready to complement their efforts,” he said.

I’m a new player in the team and there are other attackers whom I believe we get it right collectively.”I’m sure our target for the season which is Super Six appearance will be achieved.”

Okoromi who last played in the NPFL as a younger player with ABS of Ilorin has gained more experience and exposure. He has featured in all the pre-season competitions that the Niger Tornadoes took part in, and showed glimpses of what to expect in the season proper when he file out in the club’s colours.

Meanwhile, contests between Wiki Tourists of Bauchi and Niger Tornadoes had always been fierce ones, mostly with a slim margin of the score line.

Last season, Wikki Tourists won the first leg with one nill, while Musa Wakili’s 86th-minute solitary goal gave Tornadoes the lead in Kaduna.

The Ikon Allah boys have had a somewhat great build-up to this weekend’s game, and expect a surprising victory this season.
