A one-time Head of Service in Kwara State, North Central Nigeria, Alhaji Mudi Adebayo Gold, has called on the Federal government to check the menace of partisan politics among civil servants who dance to the tune of politicians for monetary and other benefits.

He gave the advice during a chat with Voice of Nigeria (VON) where he urged public servants to be disciplined and contented in order to maintain the public confidence reposed in them.

Alhaji Gold observed that civil servants are not expected to be involved in partisan politics, saying that absolute loyalty and commitment should be the watchword of their service.

A former President of IDPU, now known as IEDPU, he noted that being politically neutral at work does not generally stop civil servants from being politically active outside of work.

He wondered that some civil servants are neck deep in politics that they even go about to campaign with politicians at rallies which ordinarily is against the civil service rules and regulations.

Speaking on Security challenges bedeviling the country, Alhaji Gold blamed it on corruption and called on government at all levels to always engage traditional rulers, whom he said have their nose at the grass roots.

“With effective engagement of the monarchs, security challenges confronting the country would be brought to the nearest minimum,” he said

He also admonished the Federal Government to further focus on Agriculture to boost the economy of the country and create employment for the teeming jobless youths.
