2023: ADC Governorship candidate promises quality leadership in Kano State

The Kano State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress ,ADC, Sheikh Ibrahim Khali has pledged inhabitants of the ancient commercial city quality leadership that will translate into living a good life, if elected as the governor of the state.

He stated this during a Dialogue Series organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists ,NUJ, Kano state north Western Nigeria.

He said, he also aims to give priority to improving the economy, agriculture and health sectors of the state, entrench rule of law as well as fight corruption.

The reason why I want to contest and become the Governor of Kano state is because I want to make sure that the life of our people is improved.

“Our people need good leadership and they need somebody who will take care of them properly and who is not corrupt. Corruption drains resources meant for the people. It brings disgrace to the state and the country.

“So people are looking for someone who can help thier lives. I’m contesting because I want to make sure people of Kano state have a good life.

“90 percent of our problems including corruption emerge from disregard to law and order. Disobedience to law amd order stalls development and progress. If people obey law and order most of our problems will be solved including corruption,” he said.

On his chances of winning the election amidst political gladiators in the state like Rabiu Kwankwaso of NNPP, Ibrahim Shekarau of PDP and Abdullahi Gandujeb of APC and their Governorship candidates, Khali expressed optimism of winning the election, stressing that Kano people are tired of them and their candidates because of their weaknesses.

“I’m very confident that I will win because Kano people are looking for the right person to lead them and I’m sure I am the right person.

“I am not afraid of them and their candidates because I know their weaknesses.,” he said.

The ADC Governorship candidate denied allegations of supporting the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that their party ADC has it’s own Presidential Candidate, although the case is in the court.

I am not supprting Tinubu or Atiku or any other presidential candidate from other political parties.

“We have our own Presidential candidate in the person of Dumebi Kachukwu. If the court decides in his favour we will support him, But if the court decides otherwise, we will then seat and decide on who to support among the other presidential candidates” he said.

On the meance of Almajiri, he said a lot of research have been done in that area, promising that if elected, he will look at them and chat ways forward, especially by ensuring that they move from the streets to classrooms to have better education and a good life

I will make sure they return to school so that they can have good future,” he said.

The Dialogue Series organised by the Kano state Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ, aims to give political party candidates the opportunity to tell the public what they planned to do when elected and answer questions.
