Transactions on the equities market closed in the negative territory on Tuesday as the all share index depreciated by 0.9% to close at 52,612.55 points compared to 52,657.69 points on Monday.
The market capitalisation dropped N25 billion to close at N28,656 trillion as against N28,681 trillion recorded on Monday.
The market sentiment however remained positive as market closed with 20 gainers relative to 14 losers.
At the end of the day’s trading, a total of 182.39 million shares with market value of N4.8 billion were traded in 3,470 deals.
Mutual Benefits Assurance led the gainers with 10% price appreciation to close at N0.33k , followed by Unilever Nigeria with 9.91% gain to close at N12.20k and C&I Leasing gained 9.8% to close at N3.46k.
Conversely, Nigerian Breweries lost 9.9% to close at N41.85k. It was followed by Caverton Offshore Support Group with 9.5% loss and a closing price of 0.95k then Champion Breweries lost 8% to close at N4.60k.
