The Ibidapo Lawal Foundation has donated books, academic materials and food items worth millions of naira to over 500 students of Rochas Foundation Colleges in Sokoto State.

The foundation said the sole aim of the donation was to help and support indigent children to have access to quality education and to demonstrate love and provide comfort to children of the less privileged in all parts of the country.

Receiving the materials, the Principal of the College in Sokoto, Mr Michael Shilong, thanked the Lawal Foundation for the gesture which he said: “would improve learning in the school.”

Mr Shilong said, “the learning materials provided were to compliment the efforts of the founder on the provision of free education to children of less privilege not only in Sokoto but all over the country.”

“The School provide qualitative and comprehensive free education to children of less privilege to meet the educational need of societies.

“Therefore, the learning materials provided in collaboration with the two foundations will transform the children’s attitude towards acquiring a quality educational system in the school,” the Principal said.

Mr Shilong called on well-spirited individuals and organisations to show love and kindness to all children, especially, those from the less privileged background in the country.

He also advised well-meaning Nigerians to sponsor and support at least a child of the poor to go to school, to reduce the rate of illiteracy and also build a better future for all children in the country irrespective of their background.

On behalf of the Parents Teachers Association of the school, Mr Abubakar Magawata expressed appreciation to the Ibidapo Lawal foundation for providing the pupils with the learning materials.

He also commended the founder of the school, Rochas Okorocha and the management of the school for their commitment towards ensuring their children received free and qualitative education.

Mr Magawata further said the school is promoting unity and love as it shows no difference among the students irrespective of ethics background or religion.

One of the students, Zainab Abubakar, applauded their father, Mr Richas Okorocha for providing them with such an opportunity that would shape their lives.

She noted that the materials distributed to them would be used judiciously for the overall development of their education and society at large.

The highlight of the event was the Debate, presentation of spoken words of love, Drama, performance by cultural pupils of Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba among others.

The donation of 8000 learning materials by Ibidapo Lawal Foundation was part of the activity to celebrate love and kindness across all Rochas Foundation Colleges in the country.

Rochas Foundation has 13 schools owned and managed solely by the Foundation in different states of the six geopolitical zones of the country, which have all benefited from the donation.
