NSE rebounds by 0.41 percent

The Nigerian Stock Exchange rebounded with a gain of 0.41 percent on Tuesday, where the All-Share Index expanded by 158.97 basis points from  Monday’s 38,561.84 basis points and stood at 38,720.81 basis points today.

The Market Capitalization grew 83 billion Naira from Monday’s 20,176 trillion Naira to close today at 20,259 trillion Naira. 

UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA PLC stock was the delight of investors today who traded 24 million units of the shares at N172 million. Even as a total of 220 million units of shares exchanged hands today in 4,192.00 deals with a total value of N4.206 billion.

11 stocks posted gains while 20 stocks declined.

Top on the gainers chart is GUINNESS NIG PLC with an opening price of N23.00 per share and a closing price of N25.30, gaining N2.30k or 10.00 percent. 

Next is REGENCY ASSURANCE PLC which began today’s trading at the selling price of 0.30k per share and closed at 0.33k per share, gaining 0.03k or 10.00 percent. 

Then JAIZ BANK PLC followed with 0.06k or 9.68 percent gain after starting today’s trading at 0.62k per share and closing at 0.68k per share.

Conversely CORONATION INSURANCE PLC led the losers with an opening selling price of 0.55k per share, closing at 0.50k per share, losing 0.05k or 9.09 percent. 

AFRICA PRUDENTIAL PLC trailed right after with an opening selling price of N5.95k per share to close at N5.00 per share, losing 0.45k or 8.26 percent. 

While FIDELITY BANK PLC fell 0.16k or 6.69 percent from N2.39k per share to N2.23k per share 

On sectoral performances, there were mixed sentiments across boards as both Banking and Insurance indices declined by 12.29 basis points or 3.5 percent and 2.16 basis points or 1 percent, respectively. 

Whereas the Consumer Goods index and the Industrial Goods index grew by 1.23 basis points or 0.2 percent and 32.68 basis points or 1.7 percent, respectively. 

The Oil and gas index closed unchanged at 262.91 basis points.
