The people of Gombe State North-East Nigeria have come out in their numbers to cast their votes in the Presidential and National Elections.
Although the process picked up later than the time allotted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, voting is going smoothly.
Those who cast their votes praised the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in this round of elections, saying it is much easier than the previous ones.
Meanwhile, the Governor of the State Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya after casting his vote alongside his wife Hajia Asamu Yahaya also commended the voting process which he described as much simpler than the previous process, Governor Yayaha, however, urged INEC to innovate other means of making the process much easier.
“The law enforcement agencies are ensuring peaceful voting process by living up to their duties.So we alright and on track.So far so good I have not heard or received any complain aside from the technical issue which has been resolved.
“I made a state broadcast yesterday and I urged people to remain within the bands of the Laws and I believe the willing to comply to all our demands .
I appreciate the INEC for Thier initiative and going forward .I urge INEC to be more innovative so that such intiatives will be introduce and when we digitizitalised all processes we have it easier for everybody .
“So I pray that we all go through the processes with ease so that at the end of the day we will celebrate with whoever emerges as Victorious because we are one people” He added
