INEC begins Presidential Election collation in Yobe State

The independent National Electoral Commission in Yobe State has started collation of results from Local Governments.

Six Local government areas as at the time of filling this report had brought in their collated results for the presidential elections so far in the state.

The proceedings are being presided over by the Collation Officer for Presidential Election in the state, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State Professor Umaru Pate.

The local government areas whose results have been declared so far are Damaturu (the state capital), Gujba, Gulani, Tarmuwa, Nangere and Machina

The breakdown of the electoral delimitation of Yobe state were given as follows: Yobe consist of 17 Local Government Areas, 178 registration areas, 2823 polling units, 3 senatorial districts, 6 federal constituencies, and 24 state house of assembly constituencies.

He said the total registered voters in Yobe State stands at one million four hundred and eighty five thousand, one hundred and forty (1,485,146) voters.
