Ekiti: APC Wins Senatorial, House of Reps Seats

Senatorial and Federal House of Representatives candidates of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State have all emerged winners in Saturday’s National Assembly election.

The victory was confirmed in a statement by the State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Abayomi Salami.

Fasuyi Cyril Olusegun polled a total of 54, 224 votes to win the Ekiti North Senatorial District election, followed by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP’s  Ayeni Funso who garnered 39, 976 votes. Aiyegbusi Akinloye Oladele of the Social Democratic Party’s trailed with 1,739 votes.

In the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Bamidele Michael Opeyemi emerged winner with a total of 69, 351 votes, defeating the candidate of the PDP, Ajijola Lateefa Oladimeji, who polled a total of 28, 181 ballots.

The candidate of the Social Democratic Party Arowolo Olusesan David came third with 15, 092 votes.

Adaramodu Oluyemi Raphael was elected in the Ekiti South Senatorial election with a total of 63, 189 votes ahead of Olujimi Abiodun Christine of the PDP, who polled 36, 191 votes.

For the Federal House of Representatives election, Rotimi Akindele Oluwaseun won the Ikole/Oye Ekiti Federal Constituency, while Bamidele Olufemi Richard was declared winner in Emure/Gbonyi/Ekiti East Federal Constituency election.

In Ijero/Ekiti West/Efon Federal Constituency, Omoyele Abiodun Francis emerged as the winner and in Ido/Osi, Moba Ilejemeje Federal Constituency, Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo was declared elected.

Oluwafemi Victor Fatoba won in Ado Ekiti/Ifelodun Federal Constituency, while in Ekiti South West/Ikere/Ise-Orun, Ojuawo Rufus Adeniyi emerged as the winnner.

Professor Salami appreciated all the good people of Ekiti state, the Traditional Rulers and all members of the Inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, ICCES, for their cooperation towards “achieving another peaceful and successful election in the  State.”
