Election: Peace Commission Commends Kaduna Residents For Peaceful Conduct

The Kaduna State Peace Commission has conveyed its appreciation to the people of state for peaceful conduct during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The appreciation was conveyed in a statement issued by the Vice Chairman of the Commission, Saleh Momale and made available to newsmen.
The statement said that “the Commission acknowledges the positive contributions of diverse stakeholders in contributing towards the peaceful conduct of the elections.”
While appreciating key government institutions, security agencies,
traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations and the media who worked in synergy in ensuring the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections, the Commission also commends the political class for adhering to their commitment to peaceful elections.
It said; “In general, citizens conducted themselves in an orderly manner, respecting the laid down procedures for the conduct of the elections across the state.”
As the nation awaits the outcome of the elections at various levels, the
Commission urged the people of the state particularly the youths, party
supporters, leaders of political parties and the candidates to abide by the
provisions of the law at all times.
“All must eschew all forms of
provocation, incitement or non-peaceful reactions arising from the outcome of the elections.
“Similarly, as we begin to prepare for the Governorship and state Assembly elections, the Commission appeals for similar level of cooperation and understanding,” the statement added.
