Crude Oil Explosion Leaves Dozens Dead in Rivers

Dozens of people have been confirmed dead following a massive crude oil explosion in Rumuekpe community of Emuoha Local Government Area in Rivers State, Southern Nigeria.

The incident which occurred in the early hours of Friday  is believed to have been caused by those who engage in the business of illegal refining of stolen crude oil operating on the Niger Delta Pipeline in the area.

The explosion has led to the destruction of properties worth millions of Naira.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson, Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident, he said the Divisional Police Officer is already on top of the situation.
