Jigawa State: INEC expresses readiness for Governorship, House of Assembly polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has expressed its readiness to conduct a hitch-free Governorship and House of Assembly Elections in Jigawa state.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Muhammad Bashar stated this on Friday while addressing journalists at the INEC state Headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.
According to Mohammed, ” I want to put on record that Jigawa is fully prepared for the conduct of the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections. We have put in place all the equipment that is needed for the success of the elections on Saturday 18th March 2023.”
He further explained that all the sensitive and non-sensitive materials had been deployed to various locations within the state to cater for over two million registered voters in the state.
“We have distributed the sensitive and non-sensitive materials to all the 27 local government areas of the state. We have equally reconfigured, tested and deployed 4,522 Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems (BVAS) to the entire polling units within the state”.
Mohammed also added that refresher training was given to polling and collation officers to further boost their efficiency on Saturday’s polls.
