The Adamawa state Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it is set for the gubernatorial election across the 21 Local government Areas of the state.
The INEC Resident Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa Ari said there are 4104 polling units for the exercise on Saturday.
According to him, sensitive and non-sensitive materials have been distributed to the LGAs under the surveillance of security personnel and relevant stakeholders.
Ari said “from the Local Governments, the materials would be distributed to designated Registration Area Centres, RAC where the commission would camp their adhoc staff for easy distribution of the materials across the polling units in the state.’’
On the security situation in the state, Ari explained that “the Commission is collaborating with the Interagency Consultative Committee on Election Security, ICCEC, comprising all the uniform men including the military to ensure the peaceful conduct of the exercise.’’
He added that the commission has put in place its best to ensure a credible election and urged the Adamawa State residents to remain law-abiding and peaceful.
