The Niger State Government has reassured commitment to airlifting intending pilgrims from the state from the Minna International airport for the 2023 Hajj exercise.
The executive secretary of the Niger State pilgrims welfare board Alhaji Makun Lapai said the state government is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that the State Pilgrims are airlifted from Minna during this year’s Hajj operation exercise.
The executive secretary, Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai stated this during a facility tour to Minna International airport by some officials of the National Civil Aviation Authority from Abuja.
“The aim of the facility inspection tour by the NCAA officials to the airport was to ascertain the condition of some facilities at the airport and to identify areas that need urgent attention by either the federal or state government before the commencement of the 2023 Hajj operations,” added Makun Lapai.
The areas inspected by the officials of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority at the Minna Airport, according to the spokesperson of the Pilgrims board Hassan Idris includes; Safety, navigation, runway, screening machines, departure hall and the entire vicinity of the Airport.
It could be recalled that the Minna International Airport was denied take-off for passengers during last year’s spiritual journey.
