The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has called on supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the country to restrategize and strengthen efforts toward forming a new and acceptable government for Nigerians by 2023.

Governor Tambuwal made the call in Bodinga local government at the flag-off of the State’s Southern Zone local governments electioneering campaign ahead of the March 27, 2021 Council Polls.

He said he was optimistic that the Peoples Democratic Party will make Nigerians proud in 2023.

According to him, the PDP members need to ensure more strategic measures are taken to help achieve the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.

“As we are all aware, the All Progressive Congress (APC) led government has since lost the confidence of Nigerians and failed in the areas of economy, security as well as peace and unity of the country.

“Therefore I urge all of us to ensure measures that will address our country’s challenges are taken because the APC led government has to give way for the PDP to take Nigeria and Nigerians to the promised land of our desired opportunities,” Governor Tambuwal said.

On security, Governor Tambuwal urged parents to give their wards the moral orientation for good and acceptable behaviours and to also be aware of their wards’ movements as well as remain vigilant on informers within their locality by being supportive to security agencies.

In his remarks, the state PDP Chairman, Alhaji Bello Goronyo, described the ruling party in the state as a good omen while disclosing that over 40,000 decampees have picked PDP membership cards in the state.

He gave assurances that the decampees would be given a fair and equitable sense of participation in the activities and affairs of the party as other existing members.

Goronyo also explained that more people are returning to the PDP as many had planned to return for sustainable peace and security of the country.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the party’s seven chairmanship candidates from the zone which comprise Bodinga, Dange-Shuni, Tureta, Shagari, Yabo, Tambuwal and Kebbe local government areas.
