President Muhammadu Buhari has terminated the appointment of Hajiya Saratu Umar as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), with immediate effect.
The Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, revealed this in a statement he issued on Thursday night.
The appointment of Hajiya Saratu Umar had generated a lot of controversies, including protests by some aggrieved Staff of the NIPC, who claimed she was not suitable to hold the exalted position.
In a directive to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, the President also mandated the most senior Director in the Commission to immediately take over in the interim.
