The Kano State command of the Nigeria Police has assured of adequate security for citizens before during and after the Eid-el fitr Sallah celebrations.
The Acting Commissioner of Police for the state, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, DCP Mu’azu U. Mohammed gave the assurance in a statement released by the spokesperson of the command ASP Haruna Kiyawa
He enjoined the good people of the State to be law-abiding as adequate security arrangements have been made at various praying grounds and recreational centres in synergy with sister security agencies and other civil volunteers in the State for the enforcement of law and order.
“Worshippers going to Eid Praying Grounds should avoid carrying unnecessary objects that may trigger suspicions or apprehension.
“Under-aged children and unlicensed persons are not allowed to operate Motor vehicles, Tricycles, and Motorcycles while going to Eid praying grounds and places of visit.
“Parents and Guardians should always accompany their children with adults while going to Eid Praying grounds to checkmate cases of missing children, accidents, or any unsolicited dealings,” advised Muazu.
He, however, warned any group or individual under whatever guise to desist from any act or conduct that will cause a breach of peace and breakdown of Law and Order, stressing that whoever is caught engaging in such activities will face the full wrath of the law.
“Rigorous patrols and raids of criminal hideouts and black spots to complement ”Operation Restore Peace” will continue to avert any breach of peace by criminals and miscreants throughout the State,” he noted.
He reiterated that criminals will have no hiding place in Kano State as they are advised to either repent or leave the State completely since no stone will be left unturned.
He urged residents to continue to pray for the State, and the nation, report incidents to the nearest Police Station, and not take laws into their hands while wishing the good people of Kano State a serene Eid-El-Fitr Sallah celebrations.
