Complete Elimination Of Malaria Possible – Pharmaceutical Company

Greenlife Pharmaceutical Ltd. has said that a world without malaria is possible with collective efforts.

The company made the assertion in Lagos in a statement signed by its Marketing Manager, Dr Wilfred Okolie, to mark the 2023 World Malaria Day.

The 2023 World Malaria Day has the theme: “Time to Deliver Zero Malaria: Invest, Innovate, Implement”.

The company said that necessary actions should be taken to reduce the malaria burden and curb its spread.

Malaria is endemic in Sub-Saharan Africa and has continued to be a major public health concern.

“As we celebrate the 2023 World Malaria Day with the rest of the world to raise awareness at all levels, our organisation, which is a leading pharmaceutical company in Nigeria, is pleased to give a message of hope that complete elimination of malaria is possible.

“For more than 20 years, Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited has been leading the fight against drug counterfeiting and working towards a malaria-free environment with our malaria drug P-Alaxin.

“We have been at the forefront of advocacy aimed at controlling the spread of malaria for quite some time now, as part of our corporate social responsibility,” it said.

The company said that Nigeria accounted for about 31.9 percent of the global malaria deaths, making it the highest, globally.

According to the company, urgent and concerted actions are needed toward achieving the 2030 targets of the Global Malaria Strategy.
