Abuja: President-elect, Tinubu visits Defence House

Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Tinubu and the Vice-President-elect, Kashim Shettima have visited the Defence House to inspect its condition.

The Defence House located in the Maitama area of Abuja, the nation’s capital will be the official operational base for the President-elect until his inauguration on May 29, this year.

Present in the entourage that visited the Defence House were the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-agege, the National Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, amongst others.

This is the tradition in Nigeria over the years as the Defence House has served as the official residence for all Presidents-elect to conduct official assignments before swearing-in.

It would be recalled that after over a month abroad, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria with his wife and son on Monday, May 24th.
