A former Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Benue State, North Central Nigeria, Bernard Yisa has urged the incoming Governor of the state, Reveremd Father Hyacinth Alia to evolve ingenious ways of addressing the numerous challenges confronting the state.

Yisa gave the charge in an interview with Journalists shortly after the inaugural meeting of the Committee for the swearing-in of the state Governor elect, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia and his deputy, Dr. Sam Ode.

He tasked the Governor elect to prioritize payment of salaries, pension arrears and resettlement of Internally Displaced Person’s, IDPs in his first one hundred days in office.

The Governor elect has his manifesto which he made public. He should be guided by his manifesto. He should not forget to reengineer the Civil Service as he promised. He should listen to the advice of Benue people who elected him.

“On his first 100 days in office, he should fulfill the juicy and weighty promises he made during his post election acceptance speech, particularly about payment of salaries, pension arrears and resettlement of displaced persons and other topical issues affecting the people of Benue State,” he said.

The former Guber Aspirant tasked the incoming Governor to secure the state and bring immediate relief to the plight of the suffering masses whose welfare have been battered due to the un-abating multi-faceted social and economic crises.

He says, “We have no doubt in his ability to implement his campaign promises because he is a man of pedigree, very courageous and a sincere personality”.

He charged the Governor elect to leverage on the abundant human and natural resources in the state to build a prosperous economic prosperity that will not leave anyone behind.

“The truth is that I have reviewed some fantastic economic blue prints contained in the manifesto of the Governor elect and the reality remaims that mobilising for economic growth is an impossible task without peace, security and cooperation of the followers,” Yisa stated.

Yisa observed that the alternative approach in bringing solution to the insecurity bedevilling the state requires a patriotic and non-partisan approach to lay a new foundation for peace and progress in order to navigate its current existential crises.
