The Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Aminu embarked on a familiarization visit to some traditional rulers in Ogun state, South West Nigeria.
The Commander visited the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, His Royal Majesty Oba Babatunde Ajayi at his Palace in Sagamu and His Royal Majesty Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, at the Ake palace in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The Brigade General Mohammed Aminu stated that security is a collective responsibility while assuring the good people of Ogun State of his determination to ensure peace is maintained at all times.
He disclosed that his visit was also to pay homage to the monarchs as a mark of respect as well as to seek royal blessings and prayers while discharging his duties.
The Akarigbo appreciated the presence of the Nigerian Army in Remo land saying that it has drastically reduced the crime rate, incessant cultism and other social vices. He equally expressed his will to support, collaborate and synergise with the Army at all times.
In response, he said that since the establishment of the military presence in Ogun, there have never been misunderstandings, clashes, or disagreements. He urged Brigadier General Aminu to also maintain high cordial relationships and not hesitate to contact the monarch on information sharing and intelligence gathering.
