Bendel Insurance equaled the longest unbeaten run (18) in the history of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Nasarawa United, at the New Jos Stadium in Jos, Plateau State on Sunday.
Echeta Deputy gave Bendel Insurance the lead in the 28th minute as the visitors continued its fine form in the NPFL this season. However, Nasarawa United, who have already been relegated for Nigeria’s top flight fought back in the second half and equalised through Chinedu Ohanachom in the 51st minute.

The matched finished 1-1 as both sides defended brilliantly to end the game.
Bendel Insurance have now recorded eight wins and 10 draws from 18 matches in the NPFL this season, equalling the longest unbeaten record set by Akwa United in the 2020/2021 season.
Akwa United tops the NPFL Group A table with 35 points from 19 matches, while Bendel Insurance are in second place with 34 points from 18 matches.
Nasarawa United, El Kanemi Warriors, Wikki Tourists and Dakkada United have been relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League.
All four will play in the second tier of the country’s football league, the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The NPFL23 Super Six teams have now been confirmed;
Group A: Bendel Insurance, Remo Stars and Enyimba FC.
Group B: Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars.
