The Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Air Vice Marshall Ebenizar Alade says a lot has been achieved in the college in the area of training, syndication warfare, constant review of curriculum to meet the current trends.
Air Vice Marshall Alade said arrangements have been made in collaboration with the National Defence Academy NDA, for a master’s Degree programme in security studies.
He was speaking during a courtesy call to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.
Highlighting some of the strides that have been attained by the college so far, the 24th Commandant stated that “the institution recently acquired simulation hardware to improve Information Technology Base Study designed.
“Since assuming office, there has been a lot of infrastructure development at the college. A lot has been achieved in the college in the area of training, automatic posting of students, Group presentation, avoidance of use of paper with online submission of assignments, constant review of curriculum, among others to meet the standard.”
The Chief of Army Staff said he was impressed by the giant strides attained by the college so far and the level of training and standardisation of staff duties.
The COAS further congratulated the commandant on his appointment and for the directions he is already taking to take the college to greater heights.
The Chief of Army Staff also received the Director General, Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Professor Mohammed Yakubu and commended the institute for the productions of leather locally in line with the presidents local content policy.
General Attahiru encouraged the institute to not only sustain the efforts but improve the quality of its production, promising sustained collaboration.
Human trafficking
Also while receiving the Director General National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Hajiya Imaan Ibrahim, who came to solicit for synergy between the army and the agency said; ” Nigeria takes the lead in fighting human trafficking as it is the only country in Africa that has an agency to this effect.”
She is seeking the support of the army in area of capacity building and training to help the personnel of the agency tackle traffickers.
Hahia Ibrahim also wants to establish strong presence in the IDPs camps to stop traffickers taking advantage of the humanitarian situation in the country.
The Chief of Army Staff appreciated the efforts of the men and women of the agency as their duties have helped returned trafficked victims to their families over time.
He encouraged the agency to intensify efforts as the victims are sometimes utilised by bandits and insurgents.
