Congolese President to be sworn in for 4th term

Republic of Congo President Denis Sassou-Nguesso will be sworn in on Friday for a fourth term in office.
Among various dignitaries expected to grace tomorrow’s event will be: Senegal’s President Macky Sall, Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast, Mohamed Bazoum of Niger, Evariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi, Nana Akuffo-Addo of Ghana, among other heads of state.
Chairperson of the African Union Moussa Faki Mahamat is also expected to be in attendance.
Nguesso, 77, was re-elected in March with 88.57% of the vote and has been in office for a period of 36 years (1979-1992 & then 1997 to present)
