The South West caucus in the Nigerian House of Representatives has urged the executive arm of government to put an end to the insecurity in the country.

The caucus led by Mr Olufemi Fakeye while addressing journalists over the recent attack in Oyo State, condemned the killings in the region particularly in the Igangan community in the State.

Mr Fakeye who described the security of lives and property as the essence of government said “We want to feel the impact of the executive in putting an end to the killings.”

Earlier, Speaker of the House, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila disclosed that the House had received the contributions and recommendations made during the Special Summit on National Security held two weeks ago and would soon act on it.

The summit was to harness the views of citizens and stakeholders, experts from within and outside and to define a new strategy for combating the different manifestations of insecurity in the country.

“The House intends to change the way the Armed Forces conduct operations so that the three arms of our military can work more effectively together to overcome shared challenges.” The Speaker added.
