Nigeria explores youth potentials for nation building

The Nigerian government says it will continue to support innovation and creativity especially among the youth, to explore their potentials for nation building.

Vice President Yemi Osibanjo made the remark in Abuja while unveiling a photo compendium tagged Gbajabiamila, The Long Road, compiled by the Speaker’s Personal Photographer.

Professor Osibanjo who commended the compiler of the compendium observed that Nigerian youths could solve the nation’s unemployment problems if given the necessary support to develop their talents.

“Photograph speaks, some say, better than a thousand words. And the Story teller must not only be skillful but must be trust worthy enough to be allowed access to take some of the most intimate shots,” Professor Osibanjo stated.

The President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmed Lawan, in a remark stated that the National Assembly would soon consider remarkable legislations that would facilitate political and economic growth in the country.

Dr. Lawan said “The Senate will continue to collaborate and support the House to deliver on their respective promises to Nigerians.

In the next two months, remarkable legislations such as the Petroleum Industry Bill, Electoral Act Amendment Bill would be passed, to provide economic and political development for the country.”   

The Speaker House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, stressed the National Assembly’s commitment to partner with the executive arm in providing the enabling environment for innovations to thrive.

“If a young man is determined and is given the necessary support and freedom to operate, he will achieve wonders. It is because of him that we are here today to tell the Story,” Mr. Gbajabiamila explained.  

The Secretary to the government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammad Bello and the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwolu in their separate remarks described the collection as true reflections of the Speaker’s political story.
