The Anambra State Government has announced a number of landmark initiatives, including the opening of the Solution Fun City and the construction of a state rehabilitation centre to address mental health challenges, in what officials described as a broad strategic push to enhance public welfare and infrastructure.
The Solution Fun City, one of the legacy projects of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, is set to open to the public on Saturday, 28 June 2025, following its formal commissioning by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his one-day working visit to the state on 8 May 2025.
Announcing the development, the Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, stated that the launch would be marked by a cultural and musical festival featuring top Nigerian performers.
“Celebrated music icon Chinedu Okoli (Flavour) will headline the grand opening, alongside highlife duo Umu Obiligbo, in what promises to be a vibrant cultural showcase,” Dr Mefor said.
Key Decisions at Executive Council Meeting
The announcement follows the 12th Anambra State Executive Council meeting held on 23 June at the Light House, Awka, where a number of major approvals were ratified.
Chief among them is the establishment of a state rehabilitation centre in Nibo, within the Awka Capital Territory, to support the government’s mental health reform agenda.
“This centre will offer rehabilitative care for individuals transitioning from asylums, helping to ensure full recovery and reintegration into society,” Mefor explained.

This initiative, according to officials, reflects Governor Soludo’s vision for restoring core societal values and sustainable economic empowerment.
