NSUBEB Partners COREN To Rebuild Nasarawa Primary Schools

Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, (NSUBEB) Dr Kassim Muh’d Kassim has expressed willingness to engage members of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN Nasarawa State chapter in the renovation and construction works of primary schools in the State.

Dr Kassim who played host to the COREN State chairman Engr Jonathan Obande and his team in his office, express concern about poorly done jobs that often leads to primary schools building been collapsed at all times.

He particularly mention the case of the contractor who handles the Smart primary school quarters Lafia where the building has collapse already even when work on the structures has not been completed and handed over to the board without leading to the revocation of the contract by the Chairman.

“We won’t accept a situation where construction work is done without standard and against specification, I won’t pay for such work , we can’t continue to endanger the lives of our pupils, and we cannot be working on one building yearly due to poorly done jobs, that is not progress” he said

Responding, Engr Jonathan Obande, Chairman of COREN in the State advice the SUBEB chairman to henceforth directs his contractors to register with either the State Chapter of COREN or the national body to help check standard and quality of work done to avoid incessant collapsed structures.
