The Arena of Women Development Center (WDC) in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital was filled with joy following the distribution of Preloaded Debit card to beneficiaries under the ‘Renewed Hope’ Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program.
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr Francis Nwifuru, represented by the State Commissioner for Human Capital Development, Mrs Ann Aligwe revealed the beneficiaries during the flag-off of the program at WDC in Abakaliki.
Mrs Aligwe said her Ministry is seriously collaborating with CCT to ensure that over 68,000 people are empowered in the state.
While thanking the Nigerian Government for this initiative, Mrs Aligwe said that she will make sure the officials concerned do not leave Ebonyi until all the beneficiaries are paid.
“In a renewed drive to cushion the economic hardship on vulnerable groups in Ebonyi State, the Government of Ebonyi State under Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru commenced a large-scale disbursement of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program, benefiting over 17,000 residents across various local government areas of the state.
“The payment flag-off ceremony held on Wednesday at the Women Development Centre, Abakaliki, saw thousands of beneficiaries receiving three payment cycles totaling N72,000 through preloaded debit cards under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Initiative,” She said.
She urged them to make good use of the money.

thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru who collaborated to ensure the cash disbursements to beneficiaries.
She urged the beneficiaries to invest the money wisely.

The Desk Officer Conditional Cash Transfer, Ebonyi Local Government Area, Dr Mrs Anamelechi Nwele said; “We are happy about this program, we pray that the program be sustained”.
Beneficiaries at the event expressed their gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru. One of the beneficiaries, Roseline Nkiru Ibe, who was filled with elation said she plans starting a new business with the money.
