The Kwara State Artisan Congress has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his consistent support to the body since 2019, saying his administration has stood by artisans through key interventions.
The Congress said many of its members have benefited from the government’s social investment schemes and credited the Governor’s backing for the acquisition of land for their permanent secretariat, which is currently under construction.
Speaking during the Congress meeting in Ilorin, which the Governor briefly attended, Chairman of the Congress, Jimoh Adesina, noted the administration’s efforts to uplift the socio-economic wellbeing of Kwarans, especially the business community.

“The government has done a lot to improve the socio-economic lives of Kwarans, particularly the business community,” Adesina said.
He appealed for continued government support, particularly in the areas of employment opportunities and mobility assistance for members.
On the Governor’s entourage were Commissioner for Works, Abdulquawiy Olododo; Senior Adviser and Counsellor, Alhaji Saadu Salau; Special Adviser on Special Duties, AbdulRazaq Jiddah; and Senior Special Assistant on Religion (Islam), Alhaji Ibrahim Danmegoro; among others.
Governor AbdulRazaq, in his remarks, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to the welfare of all Kwarans, including artisans, through social intervention programmes.
“We will continue to prioritise the welfare of Kwarans, including members of your association, through various social programmes,” he said.
He assured the Congress that their requests — including the completion of the secretariat — would be looked into.
“The Artisans and other segments of the society will always benefit from our social programmes. We are committed to strengthening legitimate businesses and initiatives,” he added.
