The Anambra State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has urged young people to actively engage in civic activities, foster community unity, preserve cultural heritage, and develop leadership skills.

Speaking to journalists  in Awka, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezekwu, the Anambra State President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo,  emphasised the urgent need for youth to position themselves as change agents and guardians of national values.

Emphasising the importance of leadership development and youth empowerment, he articulated the need for young people to uphold traditional values in contemporary society.

Mazi Okpalaezekwu also noted the necessity of fostering political awareness and encouraging collaboration across generations.

He challenged the youth to transcend ethnic divisions, political apathy, and social challenges, urging them instead to engage meaningfully in governance, policy discussions, and grassroots initiatives.

“You must take the lead, not merely as observers but as engaged participants in civic processes. We are calling on you to register, vote, voice your opinions, and organise constructively. Leadership encompasses more than politics; it embodies influence, accountability, and service.”
