The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has called on Corps Members to embrace diligence, selfless service, and cultural integration throughout their service year.

‎Speaking at the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Orientation Course in Dakingari, Kebbi State, General Nafiu urged the Corps Members to demonstrate perseverance, loyalty, and good conduct as ambassadors of the Scheme.

‎He encouraged them to “learn new cultures and make friends” while sustaining the friendships established during the Orientation Course. He further advised them to remain security conscious and avoid situations that could expose them to danger.

‎On skills development, the DG stressed the importance of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, noting that “skill acquisition is a vital instrument for poverty eradication in Nigeria.”

‎General Nafiu added that the NYSC is not only designed to foster national unity, cohesion, and integration, but also to promote cultural heritage, nurture business ideas, and expose Nigerian youths to the realities of the country.

‎Commending the Corps Members’ discipline and commitment, the Kebbi State Coordinator, Mr. Bala Dabo, said all 904 participants, comprising 521 males and 383 females had displayed exemplary conduct since the commencement of the Orientation Exercise.
