President Tinubu Mourns Journalist Evelyn Osagie

The Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu has condoled with the management and staff of The Nation newspaper over the death of its Assistant Editor, Miss Evelyn Osagie.

President Tinubu described the death of Osagie as sad and heartbreaking, noting that she was one of the paper’s most talented, creative, and hardworking correspondents.

This was made known in a statement issued on Saturday by the Presidential Spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

The late Osagie specialised in arts and culture reporting and wrote extensively on women’s issues.

Literary and cultural circles

A consummate poet in written and spoken forms with widespread influence and contacts in literary and cultural circles. The late Osagie distinguished herself in the various fields she traversed,” President Tinubu said.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and strength for her family, the management of The Nation newspaper, and all her professional colleagues.

The Late Evelyn Osagie died last Sunday at the age of 49 after a brief illness.
