The Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has called on frontline troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade to maintain heightened vigilance in the ongoing counterterrorism campaign in northeast Nigeria.

The directive was issued during his two-day operational assessment tour of military units across Borno State between 26 and 27 August 2025.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the visit covered the 154 Task Force Battalion at Ngamdu, 156 at Mainok, 273 at Jakana, and the 29 Brigade headquarters at Benisheikh.

Maj Gen Abubakar commended the troops’ gallantry and urged resilience against terrorist threats. He emphasised close supervision, effective coordination, and prioritisation of troop welfare, especially feeding standards.

He held direct interactions with soldiers, addressing administrative challenges on the spot while pledging to escalate others to higher command.

Brigadier General Oseni Braimah, Commander, 29 Brigade, alongside unit Commanding Officers, briefed the Theatre Commander on measures to dominate the area and deny terrorists freedom of action.

They assured him of their resolve to sustain the operational tempo and protect lives and property.

Senior staff officers, formation commanders, and the Commander of Sector 2, Brigadier General Beyidi Martins, were also in attendance.
