President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Vice President Kashim Shettima for his role in advancing Nigeria’s economic development, with emphasis on inclusive growth, job creation, and sustainable progress.
The President gave the commendation on Sunday in a congratulatory message to Vice President Shettima, Iyabo Masha, and other distinguished Nigerians on their conferment as Fellows of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES).
President Tinubu described the fellowship as recognition of their exceptional contributions to economic policy, research, and development, noting that “the honour reflects their exemplary service, intellectual depth, and commitment to Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation.”
He particularly applauded Masha, Director of the Intergovernmental Group of 24 on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24), for her accomplishments.
Masha, who served on Nigeria’s eight-person Presidential Economic Advisory Council from 2019 to 2022, was recognised for her contributions to shaping national economic policy.
“As a nation, we are proud of your achievements and the example you set for current and future generations,”President Tinubu said.
“Your passion, innovation, and service to the nation’s economic progress embody the spirit of excellence that our administration celebrates and upholds,” he added.
The President urged the new Fellows to continue using their expertise to strengthen Nigeria’s economic recovery, promote inclusive prosperity, and enhance the country’s global competitiveness.
He further assured them of his administration’s commitment to working closely with experts and institutions to deliver sustainable growth and shared opportunities for all Nigerians.
