The Kwara State Governor and Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, has described Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as a strong pillar of support whose humanitarian programmes under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) have touched many lives.

Mallam AbdulRazaq expressed these views in a statement to celebrate her 65th birthday anniversary.

He commended the First Lady’s dedication to advancing the welfare of women, young people and various communities across the country.

Governor AbdulRazaq said she has continued to complement the interventions of governments at all levels by providing relief and empowerment opportunities for Nigerians in different sectors.

He particularly appreciated the First Lady for her investment in cultural revival through the creative industry.

Governor AbdulRazaq cited her support for the Sugar Factory Film Studio and the Garment Factory in Kwara State, which he said were boosting the state’s efforts at job creation, youth engagement and cultural renaissance.

“We are grateful for Her Excellency’s interest and contributions to our state. On behalf of my family, the government and people of Kwara State, I congratulate the First Lady and pray the Almighty to bless her with good health and more prosperous years ahead,” the statement read.

Mrs Tinubu served as a three-term senator.

As the wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, she has championed several causes, with a focus on education, empowerment, and family values.

Her Renewed Hope Initiative, launched in 2023, has rolled out programmes in agriculture, social welfare, education, and healthcare, targeting women, youths and vulnerable citizens.

The initiative recently announced grants and empowerment packages for thousands of beneficiaries nationwide.

Governor AbdulRazaq noted that such interventions aligned with national and sub-national government efforts to tackle poverty, create opportunities and promote cultural identity.
