Z and S Foundation empowers widows in Ogun state

The Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, know as the Z and S foundation, ljebu-Remo zone has empowered widows with deep freezer, grinding machine, show glass, gas cylinder, cash donations and food items.

This, according to the Foundation’s co-ordinator in the state, Mr was Abdul  Lateef Lawal will alleviate the sufferings of the widows who have limited resources to take care of themselves and their children after the demise of their husbands.

The items given to them were predominantly machines that could help with establishing small scale businesses within their localities.

The materials and cash were to celebrate the widows as the international widows day was being marked globally, last month with the theme “invisible women, invisible Problems.”

Though the day has gone, the memory will linger in the minds of the ten Widows who will be relief from stigmatization , poverty and other effects of widowhood,” the state co-ordinator said.

The program was held at Wulemotu Otubu Memorial Mosque Hall, ljebu-ode and the guests who were mostly Zakat Donors were full of appreciation to the organizers of the event.

One of the organisers, commended the Foundation for the laudable program which was aimed at sensitising the people from stigmatizing widows and to bring them out of poverty through empowerment.

Applications were demanded from widows across the zone and widows who had challenges with feeding, health and their businesses were shortlisted based on the urgency of their challenges.

The main donors for the event were Alhaji lmam Abdulwasiu Ghazali, the Eketa Adeen lsonyin Central Mosque

Other donors were Alhaja Monsurat Sarayi , CEO. Monolous Enterprises ljebu-ode, Alhaja Misturah Modupe Oni , Business Tycoon, Alhaja Saromi , a retired Principal and also a widow, mother of the day.
