The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman has commended Governor Uba Sani and his administration for presenting the 2026 Budget with the theme “Consolidating Rural Transformation for Inclusive Development.”
Liman described it as a historic and visionary plan aimed at driving sustainable growth across the state.
In his address during the budget presentation session, speaker Liman praised the Governor’s comprehensive approach to expanding rural infrastructure, fostering human capital development, and ensuring that both rural and urban communities benefit from the state’s development agenda.
He emphasised that “the administration’s commitment has restored unity and optimism across Kaduna, paving the way for measurable progress and collective ownership of the state’s future.”
“The 2026 budget clearly reflects a strategic focus on inclusive growth, touching lives across every local government area, and especially prioritising underserved rural communities as well as our urban centers,” the Speaker stated.
He also expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for respecting the constitutional separation of powers by allowing the Assembly to operate independently, free from interference by the Executive.
This he noted, has strengthened the House’s capacity to discharge its legislative duties effectively.
A notable highlight of the Governor’s tenure, according to speaker Liman, is the unprecedented opportunity afforded to all Honourable Members to directly execute constituency projects, a first in the state’s history.
Liman urged that this collaborative and empowering approach be institutionalised as a continuous policy to sustain long-term development in Kaduna State.
The Speaker further acknowledged the administration’s achievements in reviving abandoned projects alongside initiating new initiatives with tangible benefits for citizens, underscoring the Governor’s clear vision and decisive leadership.
Liman reaffirmed “the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with the Executive to ensure the 2026 budget fully serves the people’s interests.”
“Now that the budget has been presented, this House will meticulously scrutinise it to guarantee that it accelerates inclusive development, infrastructure expansion, and enhanced service delivery across Kaduna State,” Liman said.
While given a standard ovation the Speaker described the Governor as an “all-inclusive and people-centered Governor”.
The 2016 budget presentation marks a significant milestone in Kaduna State’s development trajectory, setting the stage for a year focused on rural transformation and inclusive progress under the partnership of the Legislature and Executive.
