President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is already delivering transformative infrastructure projects across Nigeria, according to the Minister of State for Works, Barrister Muhammad Bello Goronyo.
The Minister made the comment while on inspection of the ongoing work on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, which has progressed significantly, with about 64 kilometres cleared, over 30 kilometres sand-filled, and four kilometres of double-lane concrete pavement already completed.
He said that installation of solar streetlights has also begun, with five kilometres completed within Kebbi State.
Goronyo said that the project was designed to open up economic corridors, ease travel, reduce insecurity, and link farmlands, towns, and rural communities.
Planned installations along the highway include solar streetlights, CCTV cameras, police stations, boreholes at five-kilometre intervals, schools, and medical centres all aimed at stimulating socio- economic growth.
He further explained that the highway spans 168 kilometres across several states, from Sokoto to Lagos, and will connect with the ongoing coastal highway from Badagry to Calabar as well as other national road networks.
According to him, these interconnected routes will open up the entire country for commerce, mobility, and national integration.

Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, in support of the ongoing project donated ten brand new Toyota Hilux vehicles to strengthen security operations along the ongoing Sokoto Badagry Super Highway.
While presenting the vehicles to the Minister, the Governor said that the gesture reflects his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the smooth and uninterrupted execution of the legacy infrastructure project.
He noted that Kebbi State accounts for a significant portion of the highway about 258 kilometres of the dual-carriage corridor where construction activities are progressing steadily.
The Governor explained that the decision to provide security vehicles was informed by the need to safeguard the expansive construction zone. “No meaningful development can thrive without security,” he said, highlighting measures taken by the state government to protect workers, equipment, and communities along the route.
Governor Idris emphasised the economic significance of the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, saying it will boost trade, ease transportation, and expand farming and commercial activities across Kebbi.
He expressed confidence that the people of the state would be among the earliest beneficiaries of the opportunities the project will generate.
He reaffirmed his administration’s strong support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope infrastructure agenda, which he said is already delivering transformative projects across the state.
