Kano-Kaduna rail line groundbreaking ceremony holds on July 15

The groundbreaking ceremony of the Kano-Kaduna standard gauge rail line in Zawaciki Dawakin Kudu local government area of Kano State north-west Nigerian is taking place on the 15th of July, 2021.

The Minister of Transportation Mr Rotimi Amaechi stated this in a press release by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transportation, Dr Magdalene Ajani.

The Minister attributed the relevance of the project to the economic viability of the State, saying ”the project would boost business activities of the state.”

”When the Kano-Kaduna rail is linked to Abuja and Ibadan is also linked to Abuja, cargo problems will be resolved,” Mr Amaechi stated.

He said; “Kano will be the hub for the railway sector with a major station in Kano, it will be able to control the volume of human traffic in Kano.”

The Minster also added that Kano was important to Nigeria and the railway sector.
