Nigerian Army Pledges Support for Nigeria Customs Service

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu, has pledged enhanced collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to support their operations in the North East.

The GOC made the commitment during a courtesy visit by the NCS Borno/Yobe States Zonal Controller, Mr. Muhammed Idris, and his team to Headquarters 7 in Borno State North East Nigeria.

Brigadier General Unachukwu emphasized the long-standing symbiotic relationship between the Nigerian Army and NCS, highlighting their shared role in securing Nigeria.

In a Statement, the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, 7 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Haruna Mohammed Sani, said the GOC assured the NCS of the Nigerian Army’s support in combating insurgency and securing the borders.

The Nigerian Army and NCS have a shared responsibility in ensuring the security and economic stability of our nation,” Sani said. “We will continue to work together to address the challenges facing our region” he added.

The NCS Controller Muhammed Idris sought the GOC’s support, citing the challenging task of securing international borders in Borno State.

The visit included strategic discussions, souvenir presentations, and a group photograph.

The Nigerian Army and NCS have been working together to enhance security and economic stability in the region.

The collaboration according to Lt Col Sani
is expected to strengthen their efforts in countering insurgency and promoting trade.
