The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori’s leadership, saying his administration is delivering much-needed infrastructure across Delta State, southern Nigeria .
“Governor Oborevwori is making significant strides,” APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka, in a statement, said, adding that Governor Oborevwori broke ground on the Uromi-Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South.
Mr. Morka also noted that “The project was awarded to Julius Berger in the sum of N59.7 Billion with an expected delivery timeline of 14 months.”
The National Publicity Secretary said the Governor’s move ends years of deadly accidents at the “hazardous interchange.”
“Although the people of Agbor are the immediate beneficiaries of this massive and life-saving development intervention, the flyover inures to the benefit of all Nigerians as it stands at a crucial intersection of major connector roads to the East, West, North and South-South of Nigeria.
Not only will the flyover boost economic activity in the area, it will ease travel, decongest persistent traffic gridlock, drastically improve security and promote the overall wellbeing of travelers and residents alike.” Mr. Morka emphasised.
The party further said “The Agbor ceremony came barely one week after the Governor performed another ground-breaking ceremony of the N39.3 Billion Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Other Flyovers at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout, Enerhen Junction make it five Flyovers that are now under construction across Delta state as part of the Governor’s determined effort to expand critical urban infrastructure and improve the quality of lives of the people of Delta state.”
Mr. Morka further said Governor Oborevwori administration’s MORE Agenda is focusing on Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security is yielding results.
“From clearing backlogs of pensions and gratuities to investments in human capital development to payment of monthly stipends to 10,000 widows, to collaboration with Bank of Industry to recapitalize micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Governor’s development footprint also extends to vastly improved funding for tertiary educational institutions and acquisition of advanced imaging and diagnostic equipment for hospitals in the state.” Mr. Morka highlighted.
The party noted that Governor Oborevwori publicly backs President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, crediting the president’s economic reforms for Delta’s improved finances.
‘‘ In April 2025, Governor Oborevwori blazed the trail when he led the entire structure of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state into our great Party, a move that has inspired several other former opposition Governors to join our Party in support of President Tinubu’s bold, unprecedented and transformative economic reforms that have brought our country closer to a new epoch of economic boom and lasting prosperity.”
The APC applauds Governor Oborevwori for aligning state resources with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. “We urge him to keep uplifting Deltans’ living conditions,” the party said.
