The Commandant of Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre, Air Vice Marshal Garba Ibrahim Jibia, has stressed that effective Air to Ground Integration (AGI) remains critical to defeating insurgents, most especially in North West geopolitical zone.
Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Jibia stated this during the operational tour in Sokoto State, North-west.
According to him, “Air assets must work closely with ground forces to deliver precision strikes, thereby enhancing civilian harm mitigation.”
The Commandant explained that the engagement is in line with the command philosophy of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, which is to deliver decisive air power effect for the realisation of national security objectives.
He also commended troops of Operation Fassan Yamma Sector 2 for their resilience and operational successes, assuring them of sustained doctrinal guidance and enhanced training support.
In his response, the Commander 119 Composite Group Sokoto, Group Captain Harry Nanle Gumut, welcomed the visit and reaffirmed the operation’s commitment to innovative air-ground coordination to improve joint operational outcomes.

The visit underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s resolve to ensure practical airpower doctrines are actively applied in the theatre of operation in order to restore lasting peace in the North-west.
