Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Iman Suleiman-Ibrahim, has embarked on advocacy to galvanise massive participation by Nasarawa State women in the ongoing electronic registration (e-registration) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The initiative comes as the APC begins the revalidation and electronic updating of its membership register nationwide, aimed at ensuring accurate and reliable data.
Speaking during an advocacy visit to Lafia, Nasarawa State, in North Central Nigeria, Minister Suleiman-Ibrahim noted that, considering the heightened momentum, and the numerical strength women have consistently demonstrated during elections, “they cannot be left out of the exercise.”
At the sensitisation campaigns in Lafia and Keffi, the minister urged women to seize the opportunity presented by the ongoing mobilisation to validate their membership or register as new members of the party.
She further encouraged active participatuon in the exercise to promote inclusivity in governance and the party structures from the ward levels.
“They should take this opportunity to mainstream themselves in party politics. All the time we complain that oh, they don’t give us ticket, but this is the time for us to come out in numbers and support the emergence of a great party and I can see that women and youths are keying in. You can see them with their forms registering and I’ve challenged them to go and bring one. Let each one bring one so that we can be able to also multiply in numbers,” she charged.

While emphasising the power of numerical strength, the minister appreciated the administration of President, Bola Tinubu, for the significant achievements in improving the lives of women through empowerment policies and programmes.
Modrrnise Party Operations
The e-registration initiative forms part of the APC’s broader effort to modernise party operations, enhance transparency, and ensure that its membership database is current and verifiable across the country.
In a post obtained from the APC’s X handle, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the exercise was being conducted in all wards nationwide.

According to Morka, the e-registration exercise is designed to digitise the party’s membership register, safeguard the integrity of records, provide efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions, promote internal democracy, and strengthen the APC’s commitment to democratic innovation in Nigeria.
“Existing members are expected to validate their membership, while new and intending members are encouraged to register and join the party.
“Participants must be 18 years or older and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) to complete the registration process,” he said.
