The Nigerian Army has rescued 11 kidnapped Nigerians after foiling a terrorist attempt to relocate captives during a late-night operation along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway corridor, reinforcing sustained efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of movement along strategic routes.
Troops of the Forward Operating Base Doka intercepted the movement on 26 January 2026 after long-range CCTV surveillance detected armed terrorists moving through the Gidan Duna–Amale bush track under cover of darkness.
A coordinated interception involving tactical vehicles and motorcycles forced the terrorists to abandon the captives and flee into surrounding scrubland, preventing their escape into remote hinterlands.

The rescued victims comprise five adult males, three adult females and three children abducted from Gada Mallam Maman Community on 26 October 2025, bringing an end to 92 days in captivity.
The operation reflects the Nigerian Army’s expanding integration of surveillance technology with rapid-response ground operations to secure key transport corridors, protect civilians and sustain pressure on kidnapping and terrorist networks operating across the region.
